Support for Families
Support that includes the whole family.
Starting therapy can bring a lot of questions, and you don’t have to navigate them alone. We help families feel informed, comfortable, and confident from the very first conversation.

What to expect at your first visit.
Your child’s first visit is designed to feel welcoming and unhurried.
Families are encouraged to arrive a little early to complete any forms and settle in. Comfortable clothing is recommended, and some pediatric spaces may be shoe-free depending on the clinic.
Initial evaluations typically last 45-60 minutes and include observation, play-based assessment, and caregiver conversations.
During the visit, you can expect:
- Time to talk about your child’s interests, routines, and strengths, not just challenges
- Play-based activities that help therapists understand how your child moves, communicates, and engages
- Space for caregivers to share priorities and ask questions
- A collaborative discussion about next steps and recommendations
We focus on building connection first. Therapy plans grow from understanding your child, not from rushing into a checklist.
Common questions families ask.
Do we need a referral or diagnosis?
No. Many families start with observations or questions. If you’re wondering whether therapy could help, that’s enough to start a conversation.
Will I be part of sessions?
Yes. Caregivers are encouraged to participate, observe, and learn strategies that support progress at home and in everyday routines.
How often will therapy happen?
Schedules are shaped around your child’s needs and your family’s routines. As goals evolve, recommendations can evolve too.
What does progress look like?
Progress often shows up in small but meaningful ways: trying something new, communicating more clearly, or feeling more comfortable during daily routines.

Insurance and Scheduling
We know logistics matter. Our teams help families understand insurance coverage, scheduling options, and what to expect financially so therapy can fit into real life.
While our new pediatric experience continues to grow, appointments and clinic locations are currently managed through our Ivy Rehab website.
Health Resources for Families
Therapy often raises new questions about development, communication, sensory experience, and everyday routines.
Families can explore pediatric-focused health resources and therapy education through our Ivy Health resource library. Articles are written to feel clear, practical, and supportive – whether you’re just beginning to explore therapy or looking for ideas to reinforce progress at home.

Ready to take the next step?
While our new pediatric experience is growing, appointments are still scheduled through our Ivy Rehab website.
